Though Canyons’ schools are dismissed until May 1st, learning will continue. All of Canyons teachers will be teaching using Canvas, a learning management system. This site was designed to serve as a resource for families during the school dismissal. Here you will find expectations for students, tools for supporting the well-being of your family during this challenging time, as well as resources and supports for online learning.

TIPS FOR HOME LEARNING
To support your student with home learning, consider the following tips:
KEEPING IN THE LOOP
With online home learning, staying connected with student learning remains critical.
Parent involvement takes many forms. Whether it’s checking homework, setting up a schedule, your engagement makes a difference.
Be sure to create a Canvas observer account so that you keep in the loop with your students, their teachers.
By knowing what’s happening in the classroom, you can help your student to focus on coursework to ensure college and career readiness.

SUPPORTING YOUR FAMILY'S NEEDS
These are difficult and uncertain times for parents and children. The needs of your family will dictate what is manageable. If you or your child are feeling overwhelmed with online learning or your circumstance does not allow for the time needed to participate and complete online learning, reach out to your child’s teacher or counselor and discuss ideas for managing the learning load or a plan for prioritizing skills.
For students who are currently receiving Special Education or Related Services, please contact your student's Special Education teacher or related service provider for more information and specific guidance.
